What is Yandex

What is Yandex? Is it safe? Why am I getting charged in rubles? Can I check the total amount is in USD?

These are the common questions about our payment system. Let’s break them down.

What is Yandex?
Yandex.Checkout is the biggest Russian online payment system operated by Russian technology corporation Yandex. Yandex.Checkout is used by over 106,000 major online retailers and government services portals around the globe, including AliExpress, iTunes, Skype, Renault, Nintendo, Blizzard and others. Think of it as a Russian PayPal.

Why not Paypal?
Viana Care is located in Seoul, South Korea, but we serve customers worldwide. Our goal was to provide the most convenient payment platform not for only one particular country, but for everyone. Yandex works well with all forms of currency and the most common credit cards.

Is it safe?
Absolutely! Yandex might not be as widely known as some of the other payment providers, but the service has been around for over 15 years and has proven its reputation. Moreover, Yandex.Checkout was recognized as “The Best Payment Service Provider” at the Merchant Payments Ecosystem (MPE) Conference 2019 in Berlin.

Why do I see rubles at the final checkout page? How do I know it's the right amount?
All prices on our website are indicated in USD. At the final checkout page, you will see the same exact amount converted to rubles.
The currency rate is: $1.00 = ₽ 72.00.

For example, your bill is $100.00.
That would be ₽ 7200.00 (100 x 72.00 = 7200).

Please note that an international transaction fee could be charged. The fee amount depends on your bank's international transaction policy.

Once you complete the payment, you will get an invoice from Yandex by email. The invoice will show the amount that was charged in USD.
