Why You Need Carboxytherapy In Your Skin Care Routine

Why You Need Carboxytherapy In Your Skin Care Routine

The Carboxytherapy facial treatment is said to tighten the skin, relieve acne scars and even alleviate dark circles around the eyes. If you do a quick search of Carboxytherapy, you might find yourself seeing videos of people getting injections, but that certainly isn’t what we’ll be talking about today.

While it was traditionally injected into various areas of the body, it can now use it as a gel facial. And this facial does a whole lot more for your face than the average sheet mask.

The treatment uses carbon dioxide to get rid of stretch marks, cellulite, and scars, as well as plumping the skin. It’s possible to use this mask on different parts of your body as well, not just your face.

How Does it Work?

Before, microinjections of carbon dioxide are injected just beneath the surface of the skin. This is to stimulate blood circulation, which improves the appearance of the skin. And it does this by starting the Bohr Effect.

The Bohr Effect is a standard process that happens in all of our bodies. Proteins in our body are constantly transporting oxygen to different cells in our body.

«The Bohr Effect? How does it work?»

When a cell needs oxygen, it releases carbon dioxide (CO2). The red blood cells detect it and release oxygen in places where it is needed. So, naturally, the more CO2 is detected, the more oxygen red blood cells would release!

Carboxy CO2 gel facial therapy utilizes this effect. When applying carbon dioxide to our face, it makes your body think there is an oxygen deficit and it responds by increasing the blood flow. This leads to a surge of oxygen and nutrients to the treated area.

«Is it safe for all skin types?»

Generally, treatments are safe for any skin type. When you apply the mask, there will be a tingling sensation. There will be a sound from the mask but fear not, it’s only the reaction of carbon dioxide reacting with the mask.

While many are able to use the mask, there have been few who have experienced a more intense sensation and those who have sensitive skin may experience this impression.

About Our Product

Here at Viana, we have two sets for Carboxy Therapy.
A single 500g container with 25 masks and 20 individually wrapped gel packets of 25g along with 20 masks. We personally advise the 20 individual packets for easy individual and at home usage.

It can be used as either a weekly mask just as you use any clay or sheet masks or it can be used as a pre or post-treatment to another procedure.

Carboxy is often used as a pre-procedure treatment for things such as BB Glow due to its ability to help skin care and other products slip into the skin more easily. It's also used post liposuction to help even out the skin.
